At Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL) we are happy and proud to welcome the ESU 2013 Conference and Doctoral Programme and look forward to meeting you all from 19 to 23rd August, 2013.
ISCTE-IUL is a public university established in 1972. Committed to teaching, research and community services, ISCTE-IUL plays a major role in educating and qualifying students with a cultural, scientific and technological background so as to contribute to the sustainable development of organizations and society. ISCTE-IUL has a well established reputation in business, social sciences, and technology and architecture and operates in four continents. With programs in Brazil, Cape Verde, China and Mozambique, besides the main campus in Lisbon, ISCTE-IUL now attracts around 9,000 students, 48% at undergraduate and 52% at graduate levels.
Since 2001, entrepreneurship is one of the main areas of development at ISCTE-IUL. Our Business Research Unit (BRU ISCTE-IUL) strongly promotes research and PhD research projects in the field of entrepreneurship while AUDAX is a center for the promotion of entrepreneurship and family business offering continuous training programs as well as applied research and mentoring to the community.

ISCTE-IUL Facilities
ISCTE-IUL is located in Lisbon, at the heart of the city&s transport system: 10 minutes drive from the airport; 30 minutes underground ride to downtown and 10 minutes walking distance to the railway station to everywhere in the country.
Lisbon is the capital city of Portugal. It is a city with a human dimension, full of faults and full of virtues both of which will not fail to enchant you. Surrounded by golden beaches, sprawling along the great river Tagus that meets the ocean right here, Lisbon buildings and Lisbon seven hills enjoy the most luminous of lights and the bluest of skies. While here you will take delight in the small and large streets, uphill and downhill, and in our nine century old history.
