Call for ESU Strategic Interest Groups: ESU SIGs Call for proposals 2022

Each year, the European University Network on Entrepreneurship (ESU) organizes a one-week doctoral seminar and a conference involving PhD students, their supervisors and entrepreneurship researchers. To boost and facilitate research cooperation between two ESU conferences, we would like to invite research teams/colleagues to submit proposals aiming at setting up, within ESU research community, Strategic Interest Groups (SIGs).

ESU SIGs could bring an important contribution to the network. Firstly, the SIGs would allow to extend the membership of ESU and possibly to attract more senior researchers. Secondly, they would ease and accelerate the exchanges and level of collaboration between ESU members based on research projects and activities all the year. Finally, each SIG would have the possibility to organise a conference track at the time of the ESU conference.

Proposal submission

Proposals for ESU SIGs must be centred on entrepreneurship topics in line with the history and tradition of ESU network. Chosen topics should demonstrate their potential for high impact on a research area and community. The proposal must be explicit on the following points:

  • SIG leadership. Each SIG could be led by one or several scholars highlighting a good level of experience and contribution in relation to the SIG research area;
  • A first list of people interested in joining the SIG, including PhD students, junior and senior researchers;
  • A presentation of the SIG objectives, strategy and first initiatives, activities or projects.

The SIG proposals must be submitted from May 30 to August 31, 2022 to Alain Fayolle (ajc.fayolle@gmail.com), Francisco Linan (flinan@us.es) and Hans Landström (hans.landstrom@fek.lu.se).

The early proposals (i.e., submitted before June 30) could be discussed in July and if approved be presented, through SIG meetings, during ESU Conference in Seville on Wednesday afternoon.  Late proposals will be discussed and decisions will be made at the board meeting of the 2022 ESU Conference organized by the University of Seville.

After acceptation of the proposals, all necessary and relevant information will be posted on the ESU website and diffused through the email list. At each ESU conference, SIG leader could be invited at the board meeting to share their initiatives, activities and results. They will also have the opportunity to submit and lead a conference track or meeting in relation to their SIG research area.
